This busking day was legendary for me. For two reasons. 

First of all,I started to realise on a deeper level that being consistant and dedicated gives its pay off and, the second reason, is that exposure is key, not only to connect with people but also, while playing music, why not connecting with other musicians?

In this case, it was Adrián, a guitar/singer/saxophone player from Malaga who was just passing through Madrid and just passing by my side during my set. He didn´t need to play at first but he wanted to find the nearest exit and he asked me for that. 

One thing led to another and we ended up playing a couple of bluesy improvs and somehow a little piece of a waltz. Interestingly enough, when we played together, a lady stopped by and said we were incredible and she asked if we were going to play at a bar or somewhere else. We replied that that place in the subway was where it was happening and we had never played together or seen each other before. She was astonished. It´s not a rare thing for people who don´t play music to not understand that two musicians can just come together and play music and make it work. 

In essence, music is a language and like with every language you need to know some basics and being sensitive enough to one self and others or the other way around. A kind of conversation rather than a monologue. 

It was a lovely experience and it made me realise how fortunate I am to have decided to start learning how to play guitar when I was 14, a thing that never ends if one doesn´t stop learning. Adrian showed my a couple of things with the harmonica and gave me a recommendation to improve my blues guitar vocabulary. It´s never too late if you want to do the work.

P.S If I had to pick a song for that day I´d say Stand by me by Ben E. King because I sang it to Adrián as he asked me kindly to sing something for him and I decided on that one :).
